Since 1968, Belaroma has been devoted to the complex art of bringing you not just coffee, but a coffee 'experience'. To this end Scottie Callaghan has joined Belaroma as our Head Barista Trainer and coffee ambassador; Scottie has won numerous awards as one of Australia’s top baristas, his most notable awards are the 2006 World Champion at Latte Art and the 2007 Australian Barista Champion. Much in the same way as a winemaker immerses themselves in every facet of their art, so too we are consumed by the process of turning the world's finest coffee beans into the world's finest cup of coffee.

Scottie has worked hard to achieve his awards, the competitions have taken him to numerous overseas destinations to compete and learn about coffee and he will impart all his knowledge here at the Belaroma Coffee Academy.

Belaroma Coffee Academies are located at Manly Vale in Sydney and at Lambton in Newcastle.

The Coffee Academy featured on Channel 9's popular Getaway program in November 2007: Fact Sheet.

In a café the quality of the coffee being served is a must if you want to increase your coffee sales, but too often café owners have a limited understanding of espresso due to the many other pressures of the business. Nobody is going to appreciate the importance of good coffee in relation to sales as much as the business owner, but if you do not have a good understanding of the coffee your staff are serving you cannot assess your staff effectively. In this class we will cover the more fundamental variables of espresso as well as some advanced techniques.
